That dirty “P” word…
Parents and teachers often say you have so much “potential.” Sometimes a task or project captures your attention, and the outcome is creative and very cool work. However, here you are…
Running late. Again.
“Hopefully, my boss won’t notice today.”
“I can’t believe I forgot THAT!”
Your phone buzzes: “Were you wanting to reschedule today’s appointment?”
“Oh, no… I thought that was NEXT Tuesday!”
Getting inconsistent results and having an inconsistent life.
When you have Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder…
You try your best. In fact, you have a to-do list (somewhere), but many important things never get done. They just “disappear” off your radar.
You start this project that will be so great. Then you start another and another. You then look up and see a bunch of half-finished projects, and “Oh, it is time to go.” I’ll get to that later. Later never comes.
And it’s not that you don’t WANT to be organized. In fact, you put important papers all together. Sure, that pile on the table might not be ideal, but you know that if you don’t keep them in sight, you’ll NEVER find them again. Why does my partner have to be so uptight about all the piles?
Missing deadlines and appointments, no matter how hard you try. You’ve tried this and that planner… and this organizational system. Nothing ever seems to change.
The worst is the feeling that you’re not the person you could or should be.
Are you ready to get off this merry-go-round?
If you are, I’m here – ready and able to work with you to help you move forward.
Here’s what we’ll do to help…
Understand your brain…
I offer a gold standard of ADHD assessment that looks at your brain from psychological and neuropsychological perspectives. This assessment can help clarify if it is ADHD or something else that is causing the attention problems and will help put you on a path of genuine progress and clarity about what you are experiencing. Through Neurofeedback, you can increase focus, concentration, and planning without a pill.
Brain mapping can illuminate and validate your experience. You will get a glimpse into how your brain works and be directed to other resources based on the results (e.g., a sleep study, additional Neurofeedback assessments, or referral to a medical professional).
Additionally, you might consider Neurofeedback as a way of creating lasting changes to improve your attention. Through Neurofeedback, you can increase focus, concentration, and planning without a pill or spend the weekend with (and thousands of dollars) the self-help guru.
Know yourself…
Through personality assessments, you will learn more about how you are likely to act in day-to-day situations. This awareness helps you understand yourself more deeply.
For example, this assessment lets you know how you respond to emotions, how motivated you are for the rewards of life, and clarify if other issues are contributing to your challenges. Further, these assessments directly tie into treatment as they can clarify if the issues you are having are physiological, which might indicate Heart Rate Variability – Biofeedback or Cognitive, which may suggest skills around getting more flexible with your thoughts. In summary, these assessments give you a clear path forward to change with tools YOU can use.
Clarify your goals and values…
Our big question – how do we help you move toward a rich and meaningful life?
Reducing symptoms of attention dysregulation is helpful, but our North star is you living a life of thriving. You will also gain clarity into who and what is important in making these changes today.
Through our work, you will clarify how that would look in your life today. What behaviors move you toward your values, what are the moves that take you away, and what happens to you when you do either? Ultimately, you walk away empowered to be more intentional with your life.
Get the tools you need…
Starting with a targeted ADHD assessment and practical feedback, using Neurofeedback to train your brain to be more focused and engaged, applying the new tools of executive-function skills coaching, and partnering with you and your treatment every step of the way – you are better prepared for moving forward in your day-to-day life. No more going alone, walking blind, and feeling for the next step. It is time to move with clarity and momentum. You will have a partner to clarify the path forward.
Improve your executive-function skills…
Executive-Function Skills are the CEO in your brain. And your CEO seems to go on vacation A LOT. I can help you with that!
Together, we will identify an important goal and clarify a plan to make this happen. While coaching begins with connecting your “whys” and motivations, what makes this different are the skills you will learn and the focus on tracking your progress. You will develop a goal, break it down into bite-size parts, and then monitor your progress forward.
Coaching is different, occurring with more frequency and practicality than therapy. We will not navel gaze here but help you get into action and make real progress!
Make meaningful lifestyle changes…
Even if you do a fantastic job of doing Neurofeedback and applying new skills, all of this can be undone through a poor lifestyle.
Through our in-depth and holistic work, we will coordinate and help you move toward better sleep, diet, exercise, and stress management. You will experience more energy, better focus, and, frankly, feel better. Where we come in is helping you get all the parts working together to help you maintain your change efforts. Often, one intervention is not enough by itself, and change requires a comprehensive and coordinated effort. We are a partner you can count on to walk this path.
It’s time for a new day!
If all the above is overwhelming, that is ok. I will walk you through the process one step at a time. You have been here for years, and I will help you make real change.
No more half-measures or fad changes, but the right tools at the right time. Together, you will have a plan and the tools to make genuine change. Are you ready?
I look forward to helping you realize your potential (that dirty word transformed). Call to schedule a consultation: (832) 831-0178.
